Alisha Hipwell
A former English teacher, Alisha began writing as a correspondent for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 1997. From covering school board and municipal meetings, she progressed to writing in-depth education and local news stories as well as features and a twice-weekly obituary column.
Along the way, she discovered that creating the written word (yes, even obituaries) was more satisfying than teaching it had been, and she embarked on a full-fledged freelance writing career. Alisha's work has appeared in publications such as The Pittsburgh Business Times, Whirl, and Pittsburgh Professional. In addition to writing for newspapers and magazines, Alisha does commercial copywriting, editing and proofreading. She is a graduate of Miami University (Ohio, not Florida!) and resides in Bradfordwoods.
