Update: Human Remains Found in Cranberry Township Taken to Mercyhurst University
A man walking toward Cranberry Mall found the remains Saturday afternoon.
A forensic anthropology team from Mercyhurst University in Erie is assisting Cranberry Township Police in identifying human remains found Saturday afternoon in a wooded area along Dutilh Road. A man walking from UPMC Passavant-Cranberry to a Cranberry Mall found the skeletal remains about 2:30 p.m. on hospital property near Dutilh United Methodist Church (see map). Officers said clothing indicates the remains were that of a man and that there was no apparent cause of death.
