Giant Eagle said this week it's delivering more than $70 million in annual customer savings by lowering prices on more than 3,000 grocery items about 15 percent, according to WPXI. The majority of lower everyday prices went in effect Wednesday, with the remaining reductions taking place by April 11. The lowered everyday prices are on a variety of national and Giant Eagle brand dairy, frozen food and processed meat products, as well as grocery items such as cereal, yogurt, condiments, pastas, boxed dinners, canned vegetables, and paper and laundry products. Imagine pulling up to the curb in front of Pine Market District and having your groceries loaded into your car—even though you never set foot in the store to actually shop for them. All a customer has to do is order groceries online at MarketDistrict.com/Curbside and then pick them up at the front of the store at pre-determined time and date. The service was launched at the Robinson Market District in April 2012, and Robinson store team members have processed hundreds of orders to date. The Market District in Pine Township sold one of four $1 million top-prize winning tickets from Saturday's Millionaire Raffle drawing, according to Pennsylvania Lottery news release. Pennsylvania Lottery retailers in Fayette, Luzerne and Wayne counties also sold $1 million top-prize winning tickets.
