Updated Winter Weather WARNING: Freezing Rain & Snow Predicted for Cranberry Area
Up to 5 inches of snow is possible, according to weather forecaster.
It appears March is doing its best to go out like a lion. The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has upgraded the winter weather advisory for parts of western Pennsylvania, including the Cranberry area, from 1 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to a warning. The warning includes Butler, Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Clarion, Jefferson, Armstrong and Indiana counties. Allegheny County remains under a winter weather advisory. Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch and snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, with some areas getting up to five inches, are possible in Butler County. The snow and ice is expected to begin Monday morning and end sometime this evening. Hazardous travel conditions are possible due to sleet and ice-covered roads. …
