Readers' Choice: Where's Your Favorite Place to Get Ice Cream?

Vote for the best place to get a frozen treat in the Cranberry area.

Whether you prefer an ice cream cone, a milkshake, a sundae, or maybe frozen yogurt, there’s nothing like a cool treat on a hot summer night.  So where do you go for ice cream? In the Cranberry area there are plenty of options, including the Cranberry Creamery along Route 19, The Dairy Queen (which has locations on Route 19 in Cranberry, along Route 228 in Adams Township and on Perry Highway in Harmony), Scherer's Ice Cream on Rochester Road, Bruster's Ice Cream on Route 228, Young's Custard Stand in Zelienople or Zimmerman's Ice Cream in Evans City. YuM Yogurt Chills Out Cranberry with Frozen Treats

The owner also has a YuM Frozen Yogurt in Pine Township.

With blustery weather set to sweep through the area, those in search of a cool treat to match the chilly temperatures can find it at the new YuM Frozen Yogurt in Cranberry. Opened Dec. 28 in the former Rug Décor store on Route 228 near Jimmy Wan’s restaurant, YuM Frozen Yogurt features several flavors of frozen yogurts in self-serve machines. Also available is a toppings bar with a whopping array of candies, chocolates, fruits, sauces, nuts and more to choose from.   “It’s basically the same concept as the one in Wexford, but the layout is little different and Cranberry has more toppings,” owner Bob Dickson said. When it's this hot, what are you supposed to do? Temperatures were in the 90s. Kids were in swimming pools or movie theaters or YuM Frozen Yogurt for a cool treat.  I tried to fry an egg on asphalt.
