Before You Bite Into That Valentine Chocolate, Check Your 'Numbers'

The presentation looks at your personal health numbers. Free health screenings will be offered to check cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure levels.

Just in time for a chocolate-laden Valentine’s Day comes a presentation that might make you think twice before you take a bite of that sinfully delicious fruit of the cacao tree. “Take Control of Your Health—Know Your Numbers” will be presented at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Hilltop Hall at The Village at St. Barnabas, 5850 Meridian Road, Gibsonia. Representatives from the Center for Pharmacy Services of Duquesne University will discuss the importance of knowing your personal health numbers of total cholesterol, triglycerides, body mass index, good cholesterol, bad cholesterol, and blood sugar. The start of a new year is a popular time for people to start working toward weight loss goals, or get back on track with the ones they already have.
