The U.S. Attorney's office in Pittsburgh has set up a telephone hotline for citizens who wish to report suspected corruption in public education districts and entities. Potential abuses include misuse of federal funds, spending irregularities, corruption in contract or bidding processes, theft or embezzlement of district funds, and bribery, kickbacks or other forms of collusion with outside vendors, U.S. Attorney David J.Hickton said. Hundreds of law enforcement members, school administrators, human service professionals, and community leaders from Western Pennsylvania will meet Wednesday to discuss violent crime and gang activity during the sixth annual Regional Gang Awareness Conference. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Regional Learning Alliance Center on Cranberry Woods Drive in Cranberry Township.
