Seneca Valley Issues Two-Hour Delay for Monday

A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected overnight into the morning.

Seneca Valley students will get a chance to sleep in Monday. The district will operate on a two-hour delay because of inclement weather. When Seneca Valley calls a two-hour delay, the kindergarten schedule is as follows: Seneca Valley will continue to monitor the weather. Students and parents will be notified of any status updates. St. Kilian School in Cranberry and St. Gregory School in Zelienople also have issued two-hour delays for Monday.  In addition, Cranberry’s Center for Early Education will run on a modified schedule. Morning preschool will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Afternoon preschool will meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. All other programs will run as scheduled. UPDATED: Seneca Valley Operating on Two-Hour Delay Friday

The area remains under a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m.

The Seneca Valley School District is operating on a two-hour delay Friday after about an inch of snow coated the area overnight. The kindergarten schedule is as follows: Nearly all of western Pennsylvania, including Butler County, remains under a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service until 6 p.m. tonight. An additional 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible with snow showers falling mainly before 2 p.m., the service said. Today’s high will reach 24 degrees. Winds are between 15 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 40 to 50 mph. The chance of participation is 70 percent. The  service warns motorists to be on the lookout for dangerous travel conditions because of the very cold temperatures, strong winds and snow showers. Jason…
