A crash at Route 228 at Interstate-79 West is causing traffic delays, according to Cranberry officials. Motorists are asked to avoid area if possible or to use alternate routes. On the Cranberry Patch Facebook page, reader Leigh Crawford Fisher said she saw both cars involved in the collision being loaded onto a tow truck. "Hopefully it will clear up soon," she commented. Starting Tuesday, there will be single, alternating lane restrictions on Route 68 in Jackson Township, according to a PennDOT Engineering District 10 statement. Roadwork will begin on Route 68 between the Textor School Road intersection and the Evans City Elementary School near the intersection of Route 68 and Route 528. Work east of that location will be done at night and during off-peak daylight hours. Motorists should expect congestion and delays in the area, according to PennDOT. The $1,533,571 milling and resurfacing project was awarded to Lindy Paving of New Castle. The project is expected to be completed by mid-October.
