Get Out: An Egg-Cellent Easter Weekend

Hoppy soon-to-be Easter everyone! This week’s Get Out has some fun Easter plans. Feel free to add you own activities in the comment section of the article. 1.  Victory Church Eggstravaganza When/Where: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Victory Family Church. Why Go: Welcome to the mother of all Easter egg hunts. The event features 80,000 candy-filled Easter eggs across the church’s grass fields in eight separate hunts. There also will be inflatable rides, balloon artists, a puppet show and more. For teens, there’s a rock-climbing wall, a bungee run, pedestal jousting and a Velcro wall. Parking is available at Manheim Pittsburgh on Route 19, and there will be continuous shuttles to the church. This is one Easter event you don’t want to miss! …

These family activities are sure to add bang to your week.

This week, we offer spaghetti and meatballs, spicy chili, roller skating and pickleball. Pick one or pick 'em all, just don’t pick 'em at the same time! FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK Pine Family Night When/Where: 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at the Pine Community Center. Why Go: If you don’t know what pickleball is, here’s your chance to find out. You and the family also can play volleyball, table tennis and Nintendo Wii, or try out the Sportwall and Xer Dance. If you’re looking for something quieter, you can play board games in the community room. Pricing: Free to all full-facility members; non-members $5 per person, $20 maximum per family. Great Escape: Dinner and a Movie at Strand Theater

Jason Robert Brown’s musical, “The Last Five Years,” tells story of relationship between a rising novelist and struggling actress.

Who says you have to go all the way to downtown Pittsburgh for great musical theater?  Grab your significant other and check out the beautifully renovated Strand Theater on Main Street in Zelienople.  The theater presents Jason Robert Brown’s “The Last Five Years” at 8 p.m. this Thursday and Friday only. This poignant two-person musical explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hyatt, a struggling actress. Cathy's story is told in reverse chronological order, beginning the show at the end of the marriage. Jamie's story starts when the couple first meets and is told in chronological order. The characters do not interact except for a wedding song in the middle as their timelines intersect.  …
