Patch Poll: Should New PA Attorney General Kane Investigate Corbett's Handling of Penn State Scandal?

Kathleen Kane has vowed to determine if politics played a role in the development of the case against Jerry Sandusky and other Penn State officials.

Many political observers suggest that Kathleen Kane's election as Pennsylvania's first female Attorney General was due in no small part to her promise to investigate whether politics played a role in the evolution of the case against convicted child molester Jerry Sandusky and other Penn State officials. “As soon as she began early in her campaign talking about the promise to investigate it objectively, it spread pretty quickly on a grass-roots level. Sandusky Attorney Files Notice of Appeal

The notice comes in the wake of a report issued on Penn State's handling of the Sandusky sex scandal.

On the same day that a detailed report about Penn State University’s handling of the Jerry Sandusky case was released, the school’s former assistant football coach's gave notice that he would appeal his conviction on charges related to the sex scandal. “An attorney for former Penn State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky this afternoon filed a notice of appeal, complaining that the judge on his child sex abuse trial issued a protective order that required counsel to divulge confidential work product,” the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on its website. Filing a notice of appeal? His right to do so, but a good lawyer might better have filed a notice of plea bargain so Sandusky might still be alive if and when he gets released. Of course, such a move does not increase the size of his fees by as much.   more ›
