Nearby: Police Use Surveillance Footage to Track Down Suspect in Richland Child-Luring Attempt

The former Butler County man tried to get a 17-year-old Pine-Richland student to get in the car with him, according to police.

The suspect in a possible child luring attempt in Richland Township was arrested Wednesday after Northern Regional Police used surveillance footage from a nearby GetGo gas station to track him down. Mitchell Gregory Klein, 24, of West Sunbury, is charged with trying to lure a child into his car in Monday's incident. According the police, a 17-year-old Pine-Richland student was getting off the bus at about 3 p.m. near her stop at Grandview Drive and Oakhill Drive when a male driver stopped his vehicle and offered her a ride, telling her “It is cold out there.” The girl refused the ride after the driver asked her several times to get in the vehicle, Amann said. “He asked her three times,” he said. “After the first time she said no, and he …

The former West Sunbury man, who recently moved to West Deer Township, tried to get a 17-year-old girl to get in the car with him, according to police.

Northern Regional Police have obtained an arrest warrant for the man they say was involved in a child luring incident Monday in Richland Township.  Police Chief Robert Amann said police have arrested Mitchell Gregory Klein, 24 of West Sunbury.  Police and the Pine-Richland School District issued an alert to parents Monday evening after a student reported the incident to them. Police Use Craigslist to Nab Burglary Suspect

Northern Regional officers pose as customers interested in buying stolen construction tools in order to arrest man who later admitted to burglaries in Cranberry, McCandless, Hampton and Pittsburgh.

Northern Regional police are proving you can find just about anything on Craigslist -- even burglary suspects. Chief T. Robert Amman said officers from the department used the classified advertisement website to track down a Pittsburgh man suspected of stealing power tools from businesses across the North Hills. “It was good work done by them,” Amman said. “They were checking Craigslist and they found some matches on the tools taken.” Jeremy Lee Caskey, 31, of McKees Rocks, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, burglary and criminal mischief in the incidents. According to Amman, Caskey broke into vehicles and storage trailers at Air Duct Maintenance Inc., and Knobeloch Heating and Cooling in Bakerstown Feb. 20 to steal …

Hearing Postponed for Richland Man Charged With Killing Grandmother

Levi Staver is charged with criminal homicide.

The preliminary hearing for Levi Daniel Staver, who is charged with stabbing his grandmother to death at their Richland Township home, has been postponed. Originally scheduled for Friday, the hearing has been postponed until June 7 before Judge Donna Jo McDaniel, according to court documents. Staver, 26, is in the Allegheny County Jail; his bail request was denied. Staver stabbed his grandmother in the back Tuesday morning as she and his grandfather were sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast, Northern Regional Police Chief T. Robert Amman said. Staver lived with his grandparents and mother at the home in the 3900 block of Gibsonia Road (Route 910).  Visitation services for his grandmother, Connie (McCall) Johnston, will be held …

North Hills Man to Stand Trial for Sexual Relationship with 15-Year-Old Girl

Richard Bone is charged with statutory sexual assault and other offenses.

A former Richland resident will stand trial on charges of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl in 2005. Magisterial District Judge Suzanne Blaschak on Wednesday ordered Richard Bone, 46, to stand trial on felony counts of statutory sexual assault; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse; aggravated indecent assault; unlawful contact with a minor; corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.  Bone also faces two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault. He now lives in Hampton. His formal arraignment is set for Feb. 21; he is free from jail on a $25,000 bond. The case against Richard Bone began when a woman told therapists and police he'd initiated a relationship with her when she was 15, according to a criminal complaint.

After years of therapy, a 22-year-old woman told Northern Regional Police that a man more than two decades her senior had a sexual relationship with her when she was 15 years old, according to a criminal complaint. Nearby: Brian Flesher Charged With String of Burglaries in Pine, Other Communities

Break-ins occurred in McCandless, Franklin Park, Ross, Pine, Ohio and Moon townships.

When Brian Flesher met with police at the beginning of December, he told them he wanted to get everything out in the open so he could begin to get help for his drug addiction, according to a criminal complaint. "Everything" included burglaries at homes and a business in McCandless, Franklin Park, Ross, Pine, and Ohio townships, court documents state. Butler Men Face Charges After Attempted Pine Township Break-in

Edward, Keith and William Hohman and Shawn Graham were preparing to burglarize a Wallace Road home when the owner surprised them.

Four men charged in the Dec. 27 attempted break-in of a Wallace Road home in Pine Township were in court Wednesday for preliminary hearings. William Allen Hohman, 29, of Butler, and Shawn Graham, 34, of Lyndora, waived their preliminary hearings before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner. Hearings for Edward Eric Hohman, 30, of Russelton, and Keith Hohman, 22, of Butler, were postponed until Jan. 16. Graham was released; the three Hohmans remain in the Allegheny County Jail.  What happened? The resident of the Wallace Road home called 911 around 2:30 p.m. to report that a man was trying to kick in his door, according to the criminal complaint. Police: Gunman in Wexford BP Robbery Admits to Hold-Ups in Three Other States

Matthew McDonald and two co-defendants are ordered to stand trial.

Cases against three men charged in the November robbery of the BP convenience store and gas station in Wexford advanced Wednesday to the Allegheny County Common Pleas Court. Following a preliminary hearing, Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner ordered Matthew McDonald, who is charged with being the gunman during the holdup, to stand trial. Co-defendants Travis Hallam, 19, and David Piatt, 21, waived their cases. Both Washington, PA, men are charged with criminal conspiracy. McDonald is charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy and theft. The BP is located along Route 910 in Marshall Township in the T-Bones shopping plaza near the I-79 interchange.
