Countdown to Cranberry: The Top 10 Stories of 2012

Cranberry Patch takes a look at the stories that defined the community this year.

From there, it was full speed ahead on construction. In December, the bishop returned to the area for a "topping out" ceremony as the last beam was hoisted onto the building's steel skeleton. The school is the first the Pittsburgh Diocese has built in 45 years. “It’s really a dream come true,” Zubik said. La-Z-Boy, 5th Avenue Fido Get Final Approval

Officials also approve plans for North Catholic High School.

After delaying approval of a land development application for the new Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School earlier this month, planning commission members at Monday's workshop meeting looked over revised plans for the school, which removed future space for a stadium and other potential developments from the renderings. Still, Ron Henshaw, Cranberry’s director of community development, said there are more issues that need addressed in the plans. Henshaw said he and township staff will recommend that officials again delay approval of the plans when the planning …

The politics need to stop and people need to work together to make this happen. There should be no problem having 1,000 students; schools are challenged how to handle the continuing growth in population. …   more ›
