Meet Pete Geis: Cranberry’s New Parks and Recreation Director

Geis, who started Ross Township’s parks and reaction program more than a decade ago, was hired in Cranberry after a yearlong search.

It’s official—Cranberry has a new director of Parks and Recreation. At Thursday’s Cranberry Board of Supervisors meeting, officials ratified the hiring of Pete Geis. Geis, who moved to Cranberry in July, will be paid an annual salary of $75,000 in the new role. Cranberry Hires New Parks and Recreation Director from Ross

After a lengthy process that included a nationwide search, Cranberry hires Pete Geis, who resigned Thursday night as director of Ross Township's parks and recreation department.

Geis was responsible the operation and maintenance of Ross Township's 23 parks and recreation areas. He also played a key role in annual events such as the Easter Egg hunt, the summer fishing tournament, the 4th of July celebration, and Ross Community Day, O'Brien said. Cranberry hired Geis after a yearlong hunt, including a nationwide search, for a new recreation director. The…
