Yum! Cranberry Area Eateries Participating in Pittsburgh Restaurant Week

Restaurant Week gives foodies a change to experience diverse menus from around the 'burgh, including from these local cafes.

Get your forks and knives—and your stomach—ready. Pittsburgh Restaurant Week 2013 is underway and there are several Cranberry area eateries taking part in it. River City Grill, located inside Cranberry's Pittsburgh Marriott North hotel on Route 228, is offering a $35 three-course fixed price meal. Tamari's Warrendale location will offer a $20.13 fixed price meal featuring the Asian-Latin fusion restaurant's Angry Lobster specialty maki and a tempura lobster with spicy scallops and fried leeks. Also offering a fixed $20.13 menu is Burgh'ers in Harmony. The restaurant will feature a shared appetizer and burgers for two, including your choice of fries or a salad. Burgh'ers also will feature Restaurant Week cocktails at a special low price. …

Statewide Hearings Set to Update 12-Year Transportation Program

The Pittsburgh-area hearing will take place in Cranberry.

The Marriott Pittsburgh North in Cranberry Township will be among the hosts later this summer in a series of public hearings to update the state’s 12-Year Transportation Program, PennDOT announced today. Pennsylvanians are invited to the hearings – which will take place across the state -- to share their ideas for highway planning. Updated every two years, the Transportation Program serves as a “blueprint” of prioritized transportation projects. The 15-member State Transportation Commission, which includes Transportation Secretary Barry Schoch, 10 private citizens appointed by Gov. Tom Corbett, and the majority and minority chairs of the state Senate and state House transportation committees, will oversee the update. PennDOT is required by…
