Volunteer Spotlight: Haine Middle School Students Give Back to Community
The students assemble Thanksgiving meals for the homeless.
Haine Middle School students are celebrating the holiday by giving back to those who are less fortunate. With the help of parents and teachers, the students in Amy Scott and Mary Burglund’s classrooms chose the Light of Life Rescue Mission in Pittsburgh as the focus of their Thanksgiving project. Light of Life provides for the homeless as well as families in need in surrounding communities. According to Scott, students decided that providing needy families with a complete Thanksgiving meal was the most important way they could make a difference on Nov. 22.
