Sam Fragale and Zach Spangler will play college ball for Kent State and Virginia Tech.
Two Seneca Valley varsity baseball players are on their way to becoming college athletes. Earlier in November, senior Zach Spangler signed a letter of intent to play ball for Kent State in Ohio. Fellow ball player Sam Fragale also signed a letter of intent with Virginia Tech in Virginia. A starter on the Seneca Valley team since he was a freshman, Fragale is a short stop. Baseball Coach Eric Semega describes him a staple both offensively and defensively for the team. “He is a great kid and has a tremendous work ethic,” he said. Score! Seneca Valley senior Hailie Sandor signed a letter of intent Thursday to play lacrosse for Edinboro University, a Division II school for the sport. The daughter of Michael and Beverly Sandor of Evans City, Sandor plays goalie for the Seneca Valley girls lacrosse team and for Pittsburgh Select Lacrosse. A lacrosse service specialist at the new Dick’s Sporting Goods store on Route 228 in Cranberry, Sandor has been playing the sport for five years. She also was a member of the 2012 Seneca Valley homecoming court. Sandor said she plans to major in business management and administration at Edinboro.
