One person is dead after a fire Wednesday night at a 10-unit apartment complex along German Street in Harmony. Harmony Fire Chief Neal Nanna said heavy smoke was pouring from the building when firefighters arrived shortly before 8:30 p.m. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, then discovered the body of a Donald Alan Sutch, Jr. inside the bedroom of one of the rear apartments, Nanna said. The 53-year-old's cause of death has not been determined yet, the chief said. Sutch Jr., was the maintenance man at the complex, Nanna said. His father is the owner of the building. When the Zelienople Fire Department lost two young members and their friend, Sam Bucci, Elijah Lunsford and Trevor Barkley two years ago, it was a loss felt by the entire community. When the Harmony Volunteer Fire Company lost their former Assistant Chief and volunteer, Doug Pickett Jr. earlier this year, that loss hit hard as well.
