Soaring High: Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park Ready to Open in Nearby Leetsdale

The trampoline park, open to all ages, shapes and sizes, infuses family fun with fitness.

A new indoor trampoline park in the Leetsdale Industrial Park is set to offer guests a high-flyin' experience starting on Wednesday. When Sky Zone opens the doors to 740 Brickworks Drive, visitors will find a seemingly endless sea of wall-to-wall trampoline courts under high ceilings. Dick’s to Celebrate Grand Opening in Cranberry with Local Pro Athletes

Steelers linebacker Larry Foote and the Pirates’ Neil Walker will be among the attendees at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new location on Route 228.

Area residents will have a chance to get up close and personal with local professional athletes and coaches this weekend at the grand opening of the new Dick’s Sporting Goods along Route 228 in Cranberry. Located in the Cranberry Crossroads plaza, the two-story, freestanding store opens its doors Wednesday Oct. 17. An official launch, including a ribbon cutting ceremony, will be held at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19. Special extended store hours also will be in effect for Friday (8 to 10 p.m.), Saturday (8 to 10 p.m.) and Sunday (9 to 8 p.m.) There also are a variety of special athlete appearances and giveaways scheduled throughout the weekend to celebrate the relocation. New Pro Martial Arts Studio Kicks Open in Graham Park Development

A grand opening celebration for the studio will include karate, tai chi and kick boxing demonstrations, plus food and refreshments.

A new martial arts studio is kicking its way into Cranberry Township. On Saturday, Sept. 15, Pro Martial Arts will celebrate its grand opening in the Graham Park retail plaza located off Rochester Road. “I’m very excited. I can’t wait to open the doors this Saturday,” said studio owner Bill Duderstadt. “We have a great location here.” A Hampton Township resident, Duderstadt said he has been studying martial arts for more than 30 years. The fourth degree black belt and certified instructor, who had been working as a computer system analyst, added he had been looking at franchise opportunities for more than a year when he came across Pro Martial Arts, which has locations across the country. We met Mr. Duderstadt at the Miracle League Christmas Party. My son plays in the Miracle league and was so exited when he learned how to break a board. He interacted so well with my child who has special needs, it truly was awesome. We look forward to attending classes at the studio.   more ›

First Look: Hilton Garden Inn Officially Open for Business

Take a peek at Cranberry’s newest hotel.

After months of construction, the Hilton Garden Inn along Route 228 and Franklin Road in Cranberry is officially open for business. The five-story, 136-room hotel began welcoming customers at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. It is owned by Cranberry Woods Hotel Associates and operated and managed by Vista Host, Inc. “The Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh/Cranberry is conveniently located near several attractions and corporations including Westinghouse, McKesson, Bayer, Alcoa/Traco, and Siemens Corporation,” said Tiffany Jassel, the hotel’s general manager.  “This hotel will be an amazing addition to the Cranberry Township community. Cranberry CarSense Targets Mid-February Opening Date

The Route 19 location will be the first in the Pittsburgh area for the Philadelphia-based car chain.

After about six months of construction, the CarSense on Route 19 in Cranberry is set to open in mid-February. Adjacent to Victory Family Church, the 23,760-square-foot sale facility and car lot is part of a Philadelphia-based used-car business that has three locations in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Route 19 store will be the first in the Pittsburgh area. General manager Tim Wright, a University of Pittsburgh graduate, said he’ll move to the area from the Philadelphia region to work at the store. The Cranberry lot will have hundreds of pre-owned cars that are about 1 to 2 years old and with low mileage, he said. View Finder: Residents Pack Cranberry Shop 'n Save for Store Opening

The store held its grand opening Thursday.

Residents eager to explore the new Shop ‘n Save on Freedom Road packed the grocery store for its grand opening on Thursday. Accompanied by family members and Cranberry Township officials, store owners Jim and Jeff Sorbara had a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Shoppers were then invited to the store’s full-service café located on the second floor of the building. Jeff Sorbara, who co-owns the store with his father, said Thursday’s opening capped off a nearly two-year process. “We were delayed by some bad weather at the beginning of the year,” he said of the store’s construction. The Sorbaras also own Shop ‘n Save stores in Bethel Park, Kennedy Township, Heidelberg, Wilkins Township and South Fayette. Jeff Sorbara said the family chose …
