The results are in. As expected, State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-Cranberry, sailed to an easy victory Tuesday to represent the 12th District in the state House of Representatives. The incumbent, who will enter his eighth term, ran unopposed on the Republican ballot. The 12th District covers Cranberry, Adams, Clinton, Forward, Jefferson, Middlesex and Penn townships and the boroughs of Callery, Connoquenessing, Evans City, Mars, Saxonburg, Seven Fields and Valencia. When Sally Buchele opened the polling location at the Cranberry Highlands Golf Course Tuesday morning, she wasn't greeted by the foot traffic she usually gets as residents hurry in to cast their votes before heading off to work. “There were probably three people there,” she said. Workers at other poll locations across Cranberry also are reporting low voter turnout for Election Day. Polls for the township’s nine voting districts opened at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. As of 10:45 a.m. Kathy Tucci said 77 voters had shown up at the Cranberry West I voting precinct at the Cranberry Highlands.
