North Allegheny will take on Erie McDowell at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Seneca Valley Raiders football team won't be featured in the PIAA playoffs, but their field will. The WPIAL champion North Allegheny Tigers—who defeated Seneca Valley in WPIAL semifinals—face Erie McDowell in the quarterfinal round of the PIAA playoffs at 7 p.m. Friday at NexTier Stadium. The McDowell Trojans were 6-5 in the regular season. They defeated State College 42-0 in Saturday's neutral playoff game. Tickets are available in the North Allegheny athletics office. Adult tickets are $6 and student tickets are $3 if purchased in advance. Otherwise, student tickets will be $6 at the gate. For times tickets will be on sale in the NA Athletics Office, see below. For 45 minutes on Friday the Seneca Valley Raiders played an even game with the Erie McDowell Trojans. While the final score was 43-29, it doesn't tell the tale of Friday night's hard-fought contest. Fans of both sides were on the edge of their seats for much of the game. In an already physical battle with the momentum shifting back and forth, fumbles and interceptions added to the unpredictable nature of the game. With six minutes to go in the first half, Seneca Valley recovered a fumbled punt, and the momentum temporarily shifted the Raiders' way. Both teams had explosive offensive weapons in Khyre Drayer, the Trojans' running back, and Forrest Barnes, the Raiders' junior running back. But the Raiders offense was not limited to running…

Seneca Valley travels to Erie tonight to open play in the WPIAL Class AAAA Northern Seven Conference.
Seneca Valley football coach Don Holl didn’t need a scouting report or a stack of game videos to form his first impression of the Raiders’ next opponent, Erie McDowell. Holl coached Erie Cathedral Prep until last season, and developed a working knowledge of the challenges the Erie McDowell Trojans give opponents while building a 5-1 record against them. “I know a lot of their guys, and a lot of their families, and I’m very familiar with their football team as well,” Holl said.
