District Court: Assault and DUI Charges

The following people were charged and waived their scheduled Aug.17 preliminary hearings before District Judge David Kovach in Cranberry. Justin Mark Glasgow, 21, of Sunnydale Drive, Cranberry, was charged with simple assault, making terroristic threats and harassment. According to the criminal complaint filed by Cranberry Township police, officers were dispatched to Sunnydale Drive at about 1 a.m. Aug. 13 after it was reported Glasgow assaulted his father during a dispute. Glasgow also shoved his mother and threatened kill her, according to the complaint.   Assault Donald Scott Burke, 39, of Norberry Court, Cranberry, was charged with simple assault, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The following people were charged and waived their scheduled July 13 preliminary hearings before District Judge David Kovach in Cranberry. Elmer G. Goettel, 30, of Treesdale Drive, Cranberry, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to deliver drugs, two counts of drug possession with intent to deliver, two counts of criminal use of a communications facility and two counts of intentional possession of a controlled substance. According to the criminal complaint filed by Cranberry Township police, Goettel sold Oxycontin and Carisprodol to a confidential informant working with police and the Butler County District Attorney Drug Task Force on Jan. 24, Jan. 27, Jane 28 and Jan. 29 2011. District Court: Stalking, Thefts and Forgery

The following people were charged and waived their scheduled April 27 preliminary hearings before District Judge David Kovach in Cranberry. A Cranberry Township man will be formally arraigned June 5 after violating a protection from abuse order filed by an ex-girlfriend. Levan C. Adkins, 23, of Bonnie Vue Drive, is charged with simple assault, two counts of harassment, disorderly conduct, stalking, loitering and prowling at night and criminal trespass. Cranberry police reported they were called to Laporte Court at about 5:30 a.m. March 11 after Adkins forced his way into the residence. Adkins pushed his ex-girlfriend’s friend to the ground just inside the residence, according to the criminal complaint. The woman received scratches on her …

The following people were charged and waived their scheduled April 13 and April 20 preliminary hearings before District Judge David Kovach in Cranberry. A Valencia man who was part of a trio that stole copper from homes and businesses will be formally arraigned May 22. Russell Steven Hoffman, 21, of George Street, was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass, conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft. Cranberry Township police reported they began to work with other law enforcement agencies in Butler County in 2011 to investigate thefts from across the area. District Court: Man Charged with Having Marijuana Mailed to His Home

A Cranberry man remains in Butler County Jail Thursday on charges he sent $10,000 cash in the mail in exchange for more than two pounds of marijuana. Joseph J. Jetkiewicz, Jr., 54, of Lincolnshire Drive, Cranberry, was charged with drug possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to possess drugs with an intent to deliver. According to the criminal complaint filed by state police, a United States postal inspector on Feb. 22 intercepted a suspicious package from California addressed to Jetkiewicz’s home. After opening the package, investigators discovered 2 pounds, 11 ounces of marijuana, the complaint said. The drugs were repackaged and a controlled delivery took …

A Callery man charged with stealing copper from homes and businesses will be formally arraigned on April 10. Nathaniel Joseph Baxter, 20, of Kline Avenue, was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft. Cranberry Township police reported they began to work with other law enforcement agencies in Butler County in 2011 to investigate thefts from across the area. The following people were charged and waived their scheduled Feb. 24 preliminary hearings before District Judge David Kovach in Cranberry. Jeremy Peter Danylo, 32, of Second Avenue, Koppel, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. Cranberry Township police report they responded to an alarm at about 2:50 a.m. Feb. 10 at the Williamsburg Cleaners on Haine School Road. According to the criminal complaint, a window was broken out on the side of the building facing Freedom Road. There also was a small amount of blood on the doorjamb and on the broken glass. The following people were charged and waived their scheduled Feb. 3 and Feb. 10 preliminary hearings before District Judge David Kovach in Cranberry. Cranberry Township police charged two men with stealing a woman’s wallet while she was shopping at the Giant Eagle in Seven Fields and with using her credit card to buy a prepaid Visa gift card valued at $250 from the Walgreens in Adams Township. James Patrick McConeghy, 32, of Gill Hall Road, Clairton, was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy to commit theft.
