Red Cross in Need of Disaster Responders from Butler County
With a low number of volunteers, the local Red Cross West Central Chapter is actively recruiting volunteers
Last year, the local Red Cross West Central Pennsylvania Chapter, serving Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties, responded to nearly 100 disasters in the community—most often home fires. The organization’s volunteer network provides disaster victims with immediate relief in the form of food, clothing, shelter and comfort. However, the humanitarian work could not be accomplished without this very network of dedicated and passionate volunteers. With a low number of volunteers, the local chapter is actively recruiting volunteers to serve as disaster responders.
