New Castle Transit Adds Cranberry Loop to Pittsburgh

Cranberry area commuters have a new option for catching the bus to and from Pittsburgh. On Nov. 5, New Castle Area Transit added a loop from Warrendale to Pittsburgh. The bus departs at 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the state Park and Ride on Warrendale-Bayne Road. The bus leaves the city at 4:15 and 5:30 p.m. from the Port Authority East Busy Way Penn Station, Amtrak (Gate D), according to the New Castle Area Transit website. The cost is $4. The added loop marks another option for Cranberry area commuters after the Port Authority of Allegheny County did away with the 13K Marshall Express in Marshall in a regional round of cutbacks in 2011.
