Adams Township Woman Guilty in Counterfeit Credit Card Scheme

Prosecutors say Janie Bey used counterfeit cards at Walmart stores across the region.

An Adams Township resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy to use counterfeit credit cards, U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton said Thursday. Janie M. Bey, 54, of Adams Point Boulevard, pleaded guilty to being part of a group that used counterfeit credit cards at Walmart stores around to region to purchase merchandise between June 2010 and June 2011, Hickton said. She is scheduled to be sentenced April 30 before Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of five years in prison, a fine of $250,00 or both.
