Freedom Square Diner Hosting Annual Christmas Giving Dinners
Proceeds benefit Gleaners Food Bank in Cranberry.
Freedom Square Diner in Cranberry is once again giving back to the community with its annual Christmas Giving Dinner. “It’s just something we’ve always done,” diner owner Tom Cross said of the event, which is now in its fifth year. From 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 and Tuesday, Dec. 4. Freedom Square will donate half of all sales to the nonprofit Gleaners Food Bank of Cranberry to benefit local families. In a twist from last year’s event, where only a limited menu was served, the full menu is available for the giving dinners. Linda Heery, director of Gleaner’s, said Cross first approached her in 2008 about providing a Christmas meal to those in need in the community.
