Dress for Less: Annual 2nd Second Life Prom Dress Sale Taking Place at CCUP in Cranberry

The event featuring new and gently-worn formal gowns attracts high school students from across the region.

Frugal fashionistas, take note! The popular 2nd Life Prom Dress Sale is happening next week at Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church on Rochester Road in Cranberry. Now in its fifth year, the annual community outreach event provides a selection of more than 1,000 new and gently worn formal dresses. Dresses will be displayed on racks by size and all will be sold for just $20 each. Shoes, wraps/shawls, jewelry and purses/clutches will also be on sale at affordable prices. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the church. Admission to the sale is free. Multiple dressing rooms will be available on site with attendants to help as needed. Dress for Less: 2nd Life Prom Dress Sale Draws a Crowd

Hundreds of girls from across the region attend Saturday's event at Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church in Cranberry.

Despite the wet weather, there was a long line of girls camped outside the Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church when organizers arrived early Saturday morning to open the doors for the annual 2nd Life Prom Dress Sale. “It looked like they were waiting for concert tickets,” said Kelly Stebor, the event’s coordinator. Or for their dream dresses. Featuring new and gently worn formal dresses sold for $20 each, the annual sale attracts girls in search of gowns from across the region. There also were shoes, jewelry, purses and more for sale at the event. Stephanie Rickert, 17, and her mom, Jennifer Rickert, drove for close to an hour from South Fayette to Cranberry to snag some great deals at the event. “We know all about the sale,” …
