Seneca Valley Names New Athletic Director

Heather Lewis is a former associate athletic director at Bucknell University and has worked as a field hockey and women’s lacrosse coach. A new JROTC instructor also is hired to replace Command Sgt. Maj. Paul Massullo

Seneca Valley has a new athletic director at the helm. In a 5-1 vote, school board members on Monday approved hiring Wexford resident Heather Lewis as the new AD at a salary of $85,000 per year. School board vice-president Eric Gordon voted “no” on the hiring. Board members Kelly Kopera and Rev. Reid Moon and school board president Robert Hill were absent from the meeting. A former head field hockey coach and associate athletics director at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Lewis replaces former athletic director Greg Caprara. School officials in June chose not to renew Caprara’s contract when it expired that month. He had been with the district since 2004. Pennsylvania's Most Expensive College Is...

Would you spend nearly $50,000 a year on college tuition?

Pop quiz: Name Pennsylvania's most expensive college. New data from the U.S. Department of Education reveals the answer. Bucknell University in Lewisburg captures the state's top spot with a gold-plated tuition price tag of $42,342 per year, the seventh highest in the country. Room and board and other fees will set you back another $10,000, at least, and expect to pay more in the future: The school set yearly tuition for the Class of 2016 at $44,900.  Not far behind is Carnegie Mellon University with a tuition of $42,136; it's 10th in the U.S. on the list of high-priced private schools.
