Supervisors approve plans for an apartment and townhome community to be located in the same area as some of the township's biggest employers.

James Murray-Coleman, senior vice president of Trammell Crow Company, the developer for the project, has said the neighborhood would consist of 302 apartments and townhouses, including several “live/work” units that have retail stores on the first floor the building and apartment units on the second level. The township is having a banner year for construction. Among the upcoming projects are two neighborhoods, a dentist office and a few new restaurants.
It seems like everywhere you look in Cranberry these days there’s a crane or a bulldozer at work on a new development. According to township figures, about $120 million worth of construction has been completed, is underway or is planned for Cranberry in 2012. A total of around 1.25 million square feet of non-residential space will be added to the area this year alone, including construction of retail, restaurant, office and religious buildings. When the 2012 investment in private homes and public infrastructure are included, the total is more than $200 million.
