New Neighborhood in Cranberry Woods Business Park to Offer Work—And Play

Supervisors approve plans for an apartment and townhome community to be located in the same area as some of the township's biggest employers.

Riffing off Cranberry’s motto of “Live, Work, Play,” area residents soon will have a new place to do all three. At Thursday’s board of supervisors meeting, Cranberry officials approved plans for the Apartments at Cranberry Woods, an apartment and townhome community to be located in the Cranberry Woods business park off Route 228. James Murray-Coleman, senior vice president of Trammell Crow Company, the developer for the project, has said the neighborhood would consist of 302 apartments and townhouses, including several “live/work” units that have retail stores on the first floor the building and apartment units on the second level. There will be 170 one-bedroom apartments and 120 will two-bedroom apartments in the development, he said. …

Apartments at Cranberry Woods Get Green Light from Cranberry Planning Commission

Offering a new place to live—and play—near the Westinghouse headquarters, construction could begin on the neighborhood by March.

A new neighborhood is step closer to construction in Cranberry. At Monday’s Planning Advisory Commission meeting, officials recommended approval for the Apartments at Cranberry Woods, an apartment and townhome community to be located in the Cranberry Woods business park off Route 228. James Murray-Coleman, senior vice president of Trammell Crow Company, the developer for the project, said the neighborhood would consist of 302 apartments and townhouses, including several “live/work” units that have retail stores on the first floor the building and apartment units on the second level. What New Developments Are Coming Up in Cranberry?

The township is having a banner year for construction. Among the upcoming projects are two neighborhoods, a dentist office and a few new restaurants.

It seems like everywhere you look in Cranberry these days there’s a crane or a bulldozer at work on a new development. According to township figures, about $120 million worth of construction has been completed, is underway or is planned for Cranberry in 2012. A total of around 1.25 million square feet of non-residential space will be added to the area this year alone, including construction of retail, restaurant, office and religious buildings. When the 2012 investment in private homes and public infrastructure are included, the total is more than $200 million. New Neighborhood at Cranberry Woods Business Park Could Offer Work—And Play

Among the proposed neighborhood amenities is a shuttle to and from businesses in the Cranberry Woods.

A new neighborhood proposed for Cranberry may take the township’s motto of “Live, Work, Play” to a whole new level. At Monday’s Planning Advisory Commission meeting, officials reviewed conceptual plans for an apartment and townhome community to be located in the Cranberry Woods business park off Route 228. Although there is no officials name yet for the neighborhood, it has been the dubbed the Apartments at Cranberry Woods. Speaking to planning officials Monday night, James Murray-Coleman, senior vice president of Trammell Crow Company, the developer for the project, said he wanted to get the board’s feedback before submitting the plans to the township for review.
