Mars Applefest

The 29th annual Mars Applefest takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 in downtown Mars.

The event includes food, games, crafts, entertainment and more.

Here’s a look at this year’s entertainment program.

  • 10-11 a.m.: In Transistion Band
  • 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Bogmeisters Chorus
  • 12-1 p.m.: Dizzy Whoosh Band
  • 1-2 p.m.: North Star Kids Musical
  • 2-2:30 p.m.: Mars Jump Rope Team Exhibition
  • 2:30-3 p.m.: TBA
  • 3-4 p.m.: Victoria Collinello (guitar)

Annual Corn Maze and Haunted House at The Beacon

The annual corn maze and haunted house at The Beacon in Renfrew kicks off Friday, Oct. 4.

Wagon rides begin Fridays and Saturdays at dusk and end at 10 p.m. There also are hayrides, a concession stand and bonfire. 

Sundays are "no scare" family days from 1 to 4 p.m. with hay rides, corn maze, candy hunt, pony rides and a petting zoo. The cost is $12 per person.

Little Ladies Tea in Zelienople

Girls ages 6 to12 may enjoy the “Little Ladies” tea Saturday, Oct. 5 in Zelienople. 

Ticket purchase includes tea refreshments served at theme tables, a fashion show highlighting Halloween costumes, games, craft activity and a chance to win a gift basket. 

The cost is $10 per person. Tickets are available at Passavant House, Main Street, Zelienople, by calling 724-452-9457 or visiting www.zelienoplehistoricalsociety.com.

Touch-A-Truck in Pine

The fifth annual Touch-A-Truck Day returns to the Pine Community Center, located at 100 Pine Park Drive, Wexford, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.

The community-wide event gives children—and adults—the opportunity to see, touch, interact with and learn about many fun vehicles, including fire trucks and backhoes.

Parental supervision is required and cameras are highly recommended. The cost is $3 for kids younger than 12. There is no fee for adults.

A Cappella Youth Harmony Festival

The Harmony Line Chorus of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and the Greater Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines Internationalwill sponsor a free a cappella singing festival from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.

The Festival will be held at Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Rd. (Rt. 8) Valencia.
