Five Things to Know This Week: White Elephant Market, CCUP Closet Classic Sale and Connoquenessing Cleanup

1. Cranberry Planning Advisory Commission

Get the scoop on what developments are in the works for Cranberry. The commission meets at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Building on Rochester Road.

2. Seneca Valley School Board Meeting

What’s going on in your child’s school? Find out in person when Seneca Valley school officials meet at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at the Intermediate High School in Jackson Township.

3. CCUPC Closet Classics Sale & Classic Treasures Bazaar

Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church on Rochester Road in Cranberry is holding its 7th annual Closet Classics Sale & Classic Treasures Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.

The sale also takes place 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.

The closet sale features gently used clothing for the entire family, including clothing for all ages, maternity clothes, jackets, formalwear and costumes.

There also will be CDs, DVDs, books, jewelry, shoes, sporting goods and large toys.  

The Classic Treasures Bazaar will be open during the same dates and times and feature furniture, electronics, household items, children’s toys and more.

The church’s cafe will be serving meals and desserts at the event. 

4. St. Ferdinand Family Festival and White Elephant Flea Market

St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Cranberry is hosting its annual Family Festival and White Elephant Flea Market from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 and from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11.

The event includes a giant flea market, bingo, Spirit of St. Ferdinand Train rides, Kiddieland, concession booths, crafts booths, bountiful dinners and more.

5. Connoquenessing Creek Cleanup and Celebration 

The second annual Connoquenessing Cleanup kicks off at 8 a.m. Saturday Aug. 10, at the Beacon Hotel in Renfrew.
