Teens and Tweens Invited to Read-a-thon Benefit at Cranberry Library

Proceeds from the event benefit Head Start of Butler County

Here’s an opportunity to get in some good reading—and help a local educational group.

Teens and tweens in grades 4-12 are invited to take part in the second annual benefit Read-a-Thon at the Cranberry Public Library on Rochester Road in Cranberry from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10.

Participants must pay $5 at the door, and will get volunteer hours for the time that they spend reading.

Tweens and teens also are welcome to stay for an hour or for the entire nine-hour event. There will be opportunities to win prizes the longer you read.

All money raised at the event will go to Head Start of Butler County, whose goal is to help children from low-income families gain the skills and confidence necessary to succeed.
