Cranberry Township Lions Honor SEI and Peace Poster Contest Winners

Ceremony highlights student accomplishments.

On May 24, the Cranberry Township Area Lions Club held their bi-annual Service, Effort and Initiative and peace poster contest awards ceremony. 

The awards ceremony recognizes students who exemplify outstanding service, effort and initiative, both in and out of the classroom. The ceremony also recognizes some of the highest ranking peace posters entered in the local contest.

Club president Andy Newell, along with club peace poster representative Bob Isler, led the ceremony. Seneca Valley Middle School guidance counselor Robert Magerko also participated in the event.

Isler presented Peace Poster winners Alexandra Miller and Caysie Moody with a certificate of recognition and a $50 gift card to Booksellers.

Seneca Valley's seventh-grade SEI recipients also recieved a certificate of recognition and a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

During the ceremoney Magerko highlighted each student’s impressive accomplishments and achievements. Those receiving honors were Emily Mattys, Joshua Balog, and Julia Scanlan. The three students earned “Student of the Month” recognition for in the months of January, February and March.

The students for both ceremonies were accompanied by their parents and siblings. 

The Cranberry Township Area Lions Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of July and August. Meetings take place at 6:30 p.m. at the on Route 19 in Cranberry Township. Dinner also is included.
