“I’m really excited for it,” said Elyse Janectic, Fun Fore All’s operations manager. “It’s the first event like this we’ve done.”

The day’s event also includes a visit from Cranberry firefighters, balloon art, face painting and more.

Proceeds benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates of Allegheny County, a nonprofit that works to recruit, train and supervise community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in court and throughout the child welfare system.

Janectic added Fun Fore All typically hosts the Cranberry Alex’s Lemonade Stand, part of a national nonprofit to raise money for childhood cancer research, in the summer. She hopes Herofest may become a regular autumn event at the center.

“We’ve had Alex’s for the last four years,” she said. “We’re hoping to turn it into something seasonal just like that.”
