What's Open, Closed on Independence Day

Township and government offices are closed.

Happy, Birthday, America!

Today, the United States celebrates its independence from Great Britain. Many of us will do this with picnics, cookouts, fairs and, of course, fireworks.

Here’s a list of what’s open and what’s closed in the area for the holiday.

Closed

Cranberry Township offices will be closed Thursday, as will the Cranberry Public Library.

Trash and recycling pickup by Waste Management will be delayed one day.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County will operate its bus, T light-rail and incline service on holiday schedules Wednesday.

The authority's customer service line will operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but its Downtown Service Center will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

Cranberry Community Waterpark

Cranberry Highlands Golf Course

Grocery Stores: Giant Eagle in Cranberry and Seven Fields will be open 24 hours. The Shop ‘n Save on Freedom Road is open from 6 a.m. to midnight. The McGinnis Sisters in Adams Township will close early on Wednesday at 6 p.m.  

Zelienople Community Pool: The pool has free admission for Independence Day. 

Starbucks:  The coffee mecca will have normal operating hours at its locations in the Cranberry Commons and on Freedom Road.

Cranberry Cinemas: The Fourth of July is a great time to catch a summer blockbuster. 

Convenience stores: Hey, they're called convenient for a reason.
