Joe Grushecky & The House Rockers Among Concerts for Cranberry Community Days

This year’s promises to be a rockin’ good time.

The annual three-day festival, which takes place July 12-14 at , will feature eight free concerts.

“The most concerts we ever had for Community Days was three, and to offer eight concerts this year is really a treat to all those who plan to attend,” said Bruce Mazzoni, treasurer of Cranberry Township Community Chest.  

This year’s headliner, sponsored by UPMC, is special friend to Bruce Springsteen, Joe Grushecky & The House Rockers.

All concerts are at the Rotary Amphitheater in Cranberry Community Park. Concert-goers are allowed to bring their own chairs, but will not be allowed to put them up hours before the concert to save their spots. Instead, the chairs may be stored near the amphitheater.

The concerts are:

Thursday July 12:

8 PM: Tres Lads—This powerful acoustic trio from Pittsburgh is not the type of acoustic band you’d listen to while sipping a latte. People always ask, “How do you three guys with acoustic guitars make such a huge sound?” With all three Lads singing lead.

Friday July 13

5 p.m:  Jamie Bruno is an 18-year-old Middle Tennessee State University freshman from Pittsburgh who is a country music singer-songwriter. She performs at venues all over the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.

6 p.m: Michael Christopher—Despite growing up in a small town in the heart of Indiana County in rural Pennsylvania, singer-songwriter Michael Christopher actually didn’t discover country music until he was introduced to line dancing by a date.

7PM: Sydney Hutchko—Emerging artist Sydney Hutchko is a vocal powerhouse. Born and raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Sydney is proud of her roots, but loves to now call Nashville home.

8PM: The Stickers—This country music group from Pennsylvania consists of three brothers and their childhood friend. This unique combination has helped them to create a tight, dynamic sound. The Stickers known for their high-energy stage shows.

9PM: Due West—Due West is attracting national attention as they put the finishing touches on new material, which is being released on Black River Entertainment in 2012.

Saturday July 14

5 p.m: The El Rays—In 1961, a group of young men from Bishop Canevin High School in Pittsburgh came together to form the singing group, the “El Reys,” performing at schools, colleges, hospitals, orphanages, and talent shows. Today, the El Rays are Pittsburgh’s premier acappella group singing oldies.

8:30 PM: Joe Grushecky & The House Rockers—Does this Pittsburgh legend even need an introduction? Will the Boss be there? You never know, but Joe will be there rock the house—and that’s all that matters.
