‘Camp Cranberry’ Gearing up for 2013 Summer Season

Now is the time to register for programs that include Pee Wee, Adventure and Sports camps for kids.

Kids of Cranberry area residents don’t have to leave the area to attend summer camp.

"Camp Cranberry"—the umbrella name for more than 30 separate weeklong recreational programs taking place in early June through late August—is gearing up for the 2013 season.

The roster of camps operates under the supervision of Cranberry Township's Parks & Recreation Department and is grouped by age.

Camps for each age group are available throughout the summer, although enrollments are limited.

Each of the 10 Pee Wee Camps for children age 4 to 6 is organized around an imaginative theme. These include Time Travelers, Treasure Island, Lil' Scientists, Dinosaur Detectives and more.

The camps take place in various locations around Cranberry, including Community Park, North Boundary Park, and the Family Retreat Center.

All Camp Cranberry sessions are supervised by a well-trained staff of counselors.

Communication with parents includes a Camp Cranberry parent handbook outlining policies and procedures as well as a weekly email newsletter. A meal plan also is available.

A $25 deposit per camp is payable at the time of registration. The balance of the camp program fee, which ranges from $100 to $180 for non-residents, or $90 to $145 for Cranberry residents with a Resident Discount Identification Card, is payable two weeks prior to the program's start date.

Scheduled payment plans are also available. In-person enrollment may be placed at the information desk of the Parks & Recreation department inside the Cranberry Municipal Center, by phone at 724-776-4806 ext. 1129, or online at www.cranberrytownship.org/programs.
