Stars United Soccer Players Go International with Trip to Barcelona

The youths participate in a prestigious tournament overseas.

Members of the Stars United U15 Boys soccer team, which is based in Cranberry, travelled to Barcelona, Spain for 10 days to train and participate in one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournaments in the world, the MIC '13.

The boys faced opponents from Brazil, Norway, Japan and Spain, including the U16 youth academy of professional RCD Espanyol Barcelona.

Their trip ended with a 2-2-3 record.

Robert Morris University graduate David Oertli of Lazz Sports in Barcelona organized the trip overseas for Stars United players.

Parents and players had the experience of a lifetime visiting Montserrat, Sagrada Familia, Montjuic, Lloret de Mar, Casa Torres winery and all the sights of Barcelona.

They finished their trip off with a professional La Liga match when RCD Espanyol took on Real Sociedad.
