"The sessions created specifically for the MK Soccer Camp are geared toward the physical, technical, tactical, psychological, emotional and social development of the individual female player," according to the camp's promotional material

"I've been thinking about this for a while," Klingenberg, a Pine-Richland graduate, said. When she talked to kids and coaches in the area, she said, they were onboard with it immediately.

The camp starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6, with a panel discussion for all ages. Topics covered during the weekend include striking, leadership and nutrition.

The cost is $250 and the registration deadline is June 25 at www.mksoccercamp.com
