West Penn Burn Campers Mark 25th Anniversary With Formal Gala, Limos, Red Carpet Intros:

West Penn Hospital’s Summer Camp for Burned Children today marks its 25th anniversary of helping burned children heal by putting on a formal gala event tonight for this year’s campers.

This special treat for the kids will include limo rides to the gala, a red-carpet entrance where the campers get a celebrity welcome, and special dress wear for all campers.

Today’s gala schedule:

4 p.m. Girl campers get makeovers courtesy of Amy Porter-Greco of New Castle

6-7 p.m.  Campers get dressed in their cabins, in formal wear provided by Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club, David’s Bridal, JC Penney and Payless.

7 p.m.  Limo rides across Camp Kon-O-Kwee to the party courtesy of Pittsburgh Limousine.

7:30 p.m.  Magic show by Tim Kutch.

8:30 p.m.  Red Carpet celebrity introductions for the kids, followed by a dance party hosted by DJ Ed Lorenc the Jam-Master. Floral arrangements provided by Mussig Floral of Zelienople.

The day will also be filled with camp activities, including hiking, rope climbing, volleyball and swimming from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

West Penn Hospital’s Summer Camp for Burned Children is free to any child who has been treated at West Penn Burn Center. Thirty-one campers are attending this year.
