Cranberry Zumbathon

Caution: Giant Zumbathon approaching!

A gathering of local Zumba ance fitness instructors will come together for a two-hour Zumbathon workout in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center Gymnasium on Saturday, September 15, starting at 9 a.m.

No advance registration is required, although donations of $5 will be collected at the door to benefit the Western Pennsylvania Alzheimer's Association.

The Zumbathon, which is being sponsored by the Cranberry Township Parks & Recreation Department, will offer prizes, raffles, refreshments, and more, in addition to great exercise.

Zumba Fitness is a branded, Latin-inspired dance-fitness program started in 2001 by a Colombian fitness instructor who had to improvise sessions from his personal tapes after inadvertently leaving his aerobics music at home, has grown to become the world's largest dance-workout program, with more than 14 million people taking weekly classes in more than 150 countries.
