Video: Watch Seneca Valley Teachers Get ‘Stached’ For a Good Cause

To raise money for March of Dimes, eight middle school teachers agreed to have their facial hair shaved into mustaches.

The “save it” and “shave it” options never stood a chance.

Last week, the Condor and Eagle academic teams at held a fundraiser for March of Dimes. To help raise money for the cause, eight teachers agreed to grow out their facial hair.

Students then The jar filled with the most money determined the fate of the beards.

To no one’s surprise (the students really wanted to see their teachers with mustaches), “Stache It,” was the event’s winner—and so was March of Dimes.

Jonette Capra, who helped organize the event, said students contributed $780 towards the nonprofit’s Butler County chapter. It’s the most money students have ever raised for March of Dimes.

“We were just so excited that everyone was so cooperative,” Capra said. “What was amazing to me was no one really gave up on it. They kept giving more and more, which was wonderful.”

On Monday, Adam Mills, a master barber at , came to the school to shave the teachers’ beards into mustaches.

Although he’s been cutting hair for more than 17 years, Mills admitted he doesn’t see too many ‘staches these days.

“Most people rock a beard or a goatee,” he said.

Because the students raised so much money for March of Dimes, teachers agreed to wear the mustaches for the rest of the week.
