Seneca Valley Students Raise Funds for Women's Shelter

The students donate proceeds from a recent fundraiser to the Women's Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh.

Seneca Valley Senior High School students recently held a Sadie Hawkins dance to raise funds for the Women's Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. In addition to the ticket sales, students donated proceeds from T-shirts sold for the dance to the shelter. Altogether, they raised $1,600.

According to Linda Andreassi, the district's director of communications, the event organizers said the fundraiser also would help raise awareness about domestic violence and aid in empowering young women.
