Seneca Valley Dominates Norwin 47-0

The Raiders start the season with a decisive victory over the Knights.

Seneca Valley's first football game of the season kicked off in sweltering heat with a who came to NexTier Stadium to help honor the fallen on the upcoming on Sept. 11 2001.  

They were greeted by a standing ovation for their service to the country.

As the pre-game ceremony gave way to the contest on the gridiron the crowd was generous with their enthusiasm -- and for good reason. An aggressive Raider defense punished the Norwin quarterback at every turn, resulting in an interception. Seneca Valley was unable to convert this into a trip to the end zone.

Scoreless at the end of the first quarter, the Raiders still dominated. As the second quarter began the Raiders opened up their game with two quick touchdowns on a 45 yard run and a blocked punt that was covered in Norwin's end zone.  

The game became one-sided after that, as the Raiders seemed to score almost at will. Final score was 47-0. Seneca Valley next travels to Fox Chapel to take on the Foxes at 7 p.m. on Friday
