Seneca Valley Names New Haine School Assistant Principal

Mandy Toy is a a former learning support teacher.

The Seneca Valley School Board on Monday appointed Mandy Toy as the new assistant principal and

Formerly a fifth-grade learning support teacher at Haine Middle School, Toy replaces Michelle Ellis, who recently was promoted to principal at Haine Elementary School.

Ellis took over as principal after in October.

Toy, has been with Seneca Valley since 2006, will be paid a salary of $66,000. She officially will begin her new position once a replacement is found for her in the classroom, said Linda Andreassi, communications director.

In addition to teaching, Toy participates on a variety of committees, writes curriculum for the elementary cyber courses and has assisted in planning and executing exploratory days at the school, including Career Fair Day and Cultural Day, a statement from the district said.

Toy earned her bachelors degree in elementary education and special education from Slippery Rock University. She has a masters of science in educational administration from the University of Scranton.
