Seneca Valley Honors Longtime Crossing Guard

Patty Kauffman will retire after 28 years of service.

On Monday, officials honored retiring crossing guard Patty Kauffman, who was a fixture at on Rowan Road for 28 years. 

As she accepted a plaque topped with an apple from superintendent Dr. Donald Tylinski, Kauffman got teary-eyed.

The Cranberry resident said her own children attended Rowan Elementary before graduating from

"Now I have grandchildren," she said.
