A familiar face will be taking the reins at the Seneca Valley Academy of Choice, the district’s school for cyber, performing arts, visual arts, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math opportunities.

At the June school board meeting, Seneca Valley officials approved Denise Manganello as principal of Seneca Valley’s Cyber Program and the Outreach Partnership of Technology.

They also hired Anthony Conti as the assistant principal for the same program.

Manganello, who previously was the cyber program’s assistant principal, will be paid a salary of $103,500.

Jeffrey Roberts, who served as an assistant principal with the cyber program will now serve as the assistant principal of the senior high school.

He takes the place of Jodie Perry, who was recently appointed Seneca Valley Intermediate High School principal when Alan Cumo retired.

Manganello has been part of Seneca Valley’s cyber program since its inception in 2007. Prior to that, she served as assistant principal of the senior high school. She has been with the district since 2006.

A Seneca Valley graduate, Manganello also worked in emotional support and as an academy supervisor with the Shaler and Pocono Mountain School District.

She earned her Bachelor of Science and master’s degrees in education from California University of Pennsylvania. She also received her certification in special education, elementary education and K-12 principalship from Cal U.

Prior to joining Seneca Valley, Conti taught character education, social studies and coached both baseball and football at St. Edward’s School. He joined the St. Lucie County School district in 2006 as a dean of students at Treasure Coast High School.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and classical studies from the University of Richmond and obtained his Master of Education degree from Jones International University, graduating with highest honors.

In the spring of 2010, Conti was appointed as an assistant principal of Westwood High School.

After spending time in Florida, he said he is pleased to return to his Raider roots.

“I am honored at the opportunity to return to Seneca Valley and make an impact on its students,” he said.  “I owe a great deal of my success to the lessons I learned as a student here and I am ready to take on this new charge with integrity, enthusiasm and dedication. Once a Raider, always a Raider.”
