Seneca Valley Hires New Intermediate High School Principal to Replace Cumo

A Seneca Valley grad, Jodie Perry previously served as assistant principal at the senior high school.

A new face is taking over the reins at Seneca Valley Intermediate High School.

At Monday’s school board meeting, officials voted to appoint Zelienople resident Jodie Perry as the new principal of the intermediate school on the secondary campus in Jackson Township.

She replaces longtime principal Alan Cumo, who retired in June after working 25 years in the district.

Perry previously served as assistant principal at Seneca Valley Senior High School. She will be paid a salary of $105,000 in her new role.

A 1998 graduate of Seneca Valley, Perry has been working in the district since 2003, when she was hired as a special education teacher at the senior high school.

After six years in the position, Perry was became assistant principal at the senior high school, where she has been working for the past four years.

Perry has experience in developing and writing curriculum, supervising professional and support staff, leading the Youth Education Support Services team and serving as a student council advisor, according to a statement from Seneca Valley.

She earned her bachelor of science in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She earned her master’s in instruction and curriculum from Gannon University and her K-12 principal certification from Slippery Rock University.
