A fifth grade teacher and the summer school academy coordinator in the Shenango Area School District, D’Angelo replaces Nan Farmar, who was promoted to principal of Rowan Elementary in May.

Farmar had been acting principal at the school since last December, when longtime principal Dr. John Giancola left the district.

Superintendent Dr. Tracy Vitale said Seneca Valley hired D’Angelo, a Shenango resident, as assistant principal after an extensive interviewing process.

“He has a considerable amount of experience in special education and autistic support,” Vitale said of the new hire.

Prior to teaching at Shenango, D’Angelo also taught learning support at the Franklin Area School District.

He is a graduate of Geneva College with a degree in special education and elementary education. He received his Master’s Degree in administration from California University of Pennsylvania.
