Seneca Valley Foundation Hosting ‘Sweetness & Light’ Gala

Broadway stars, as well as the Seneca Valley Strings Quartet, will perform at the event.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Seneca Valley Foundation will host a ‘Sweetness & Light Gala’ at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh.

The gala will include numerous baskets to raffle and items to auction off, all of which total more than $7,000 in value. The gala also will feature performances by the Seneca Valley Strings Quartet. Small plate appetizers will be served and cocktails will be made available.

The evening culminates at 8 p.m. with a performance of “My Fair Lady” by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Broadway stars Rebecca Luker and Doug LaBrecque join the orchestra for "I Could Have Danced All Night" from My Fair Lady, the theme from Ice Castles and more. Michael Krajewski is the conductor.

All proceeds from the gala will go to the Seneca Valley Foundation, a private, tax-exempt nonprofit corporation. The foundation seeks donations and patrons to help develop capital projects, classroom programs and student scholarships for Seneca Valley.

Ticket prices, which include the gala and PSO performance, are:

  • $60 - Gallery Section
  • $80 - Family Circle Section
  • $110 - Dress Circle or the Grand Tier Sections
  • $60-$110 (depending on seat) - Orchestra Section
